TIGER JIM LANDS THE SPOILS.

TIGER JIM yesterday landed the spoils for this page with an impressive victory at Newcastle for Trainer Jim Goldie and Jockey ,Fergal Lynch. The winner returned at a price of 4/1 having taken some money at the course. This is a horse to follow and I expect him to  follow up on this win on the next occasion that he comes under Starter’s orders. We have therefore provided our readers with our first winner on only our second day back . We have only just began . We  now turn our attention  to today’s card and in particular, the 4.55 at Goodwood, a 7 fur, Class 4 Handicap with a field of  13 runners expected to face the Starter at the off. Our selection in this contest is the No 1 Horse,TIDENTIME, the mount of William Twiston Davies, the Trainer being Mick Channon.  This Horse is presently quoted at 20/1 and so it may appear as a highly speculative  selection, however,I expect those odds to drop down to about 12/1  ,making TIDENTIME  a very good each way bet indeed. This race represents a slight drop in grade for our selection and he has the advantage of Course experience having raced here on three occasions in the past, placing twice. The Trainer has sent out 38 winners from 305 runners in the last 90 days, his last one being Essaka at  Nottingham yesterday  at 4/6 fav. The Jockey on the other hand ,has only had  14 winners from 164 runners in the last 90 days.. His last win was aboard Pour  La Victoire who is also entered in this contest with hot apprentice Cam Hardie[5], aboard. Our selection seems to be the class animal  from among this bunch  and on that score, should be good enough to get the better of this field.  I expect that the early pace setters would burn themselves when they meet the rising ground and would all be passed by TIDENTIME who should go on to an unchallenged victory, TIDENTIME is our nap for the day at Goodwood in the 4.55.

TIGER TIM in the 4.20 at NEWCASTLE today.

U.K. Racing Tips

SILVANUS,my first selection back from a long break, failed to land the spoils yesterday, finishing in 5th position out of the 8 runners who took part. The selection did get a good break and set about to make the running but clearly was found wanting in the uphill climb to the finish, The horse was quoted overnight at 13/2 but drifted out markedly to a price of 16/1 at the off. That was not a good omen. Silvanus though,is an animal  to keep an eye on as the  beast  showed good early speed before fading on the uphill climb.  I  do expect this horse to enter the winners enclosure  very soon, providing  he gets a flatter track to display  the talent that lies within.Today’s selection is a Horse that is entered in the  4.20 at Newcastle, a class 4 Handicap over a distance of 7 furs. There are 13 horses declared to run in this contest and my  selection here is Horse No 13. TIGER TIM, trained by Jim Goldie and due to be ridden by  F. Lynch. This combination landed a 15/2 winner yesterday at Hamilton and I expect  them to  repeat the trick today at Newcastle, hopefully at the same sort of odds. The  Trainer has only had  a measly 22 winners from 231 runners in the last 90 days while the Jockey’s record over the same period shows that he has only  won 12 races from 90 runners. TIGER TIM’S last appearance at this venue  saw him being sent off as the 7/4 fav in a 6 furl contest,a race in which he finished 4th to  Bop  It , going down by less than  three lengths to the winner. He followed that up with an outing at Doncaster ,where again ,he was sent off as the fav at 11/4.. He finished 4th in that  16 horse contest, beaten by Bob,who is once again in opposition, and he finished  about 2 1/2 lths  behind the winner.. TIGER TIM was sent off as fav in his last 4 outings so clearly, this is a horse that has some ability. He has a record of 1 Win from 7 starts and I confidently expect an improvement in the win column of that record at the conclusion of today’s race.. He is presently quoted at odds of 6/1 and I expect that price to hold .TIGER TIM then is my selection today in the 4.20 at Newcastle.

Back On Stream with SILVANUS .

Starting from tomorrow ,22/09/2014, this page, U.K Racing Tips will once again be back in operation, providing value money U.K Racing Tips  on a daily basis. This will be run  as a free service for the next two months,so as to demonstrate our expertise and our knack for finding winners at attractive odds. None of our single each way selections would  be at  odds of less than  4/1 though it may happen from time to time, that our fancied selection may attract a lot of support in the ring and so may return at a  price shorter  than  expected. We would also be recommending doubles and trebles on days that our research uncover solid betting opportunities.  To start the ball rolling, my first tip will be on SILVANUS in the  4.00 p.m  at Leicester, a Class  3 Sprint over the minimum trip. Silvanus will once again have the assistance of Paul Hanagan, a jockey that knows the Horse very well. The Horse is no stranger to the track having run here on a few occasions.SILVANUS is presently quoted at a price of 13/2  and so is an excellent each way bet in this nine runner field. The prize is quite a decent one with over 7,500.00  pounds to the winner. SILVANUS then,is the selection in the 4.00 p.m at Leicester on Monday. Good Luck with the selection.

TOTAL ANNIHILATION, by DUNSTAN ALEXANDER.

I SUPPORT JACK WARNER.

Monday July 29th will go down in the annals of Trinidad and Tobago Political history as the day a fledgling  Political Party, the Independent Liberal Party led by it’s founder and interim Political Leader Austin Jack Warner, inflicted on the dominant  UNC Party ,the party in government, a defeat of catastrophic and cataclysmic proportions. Mr Warner was attempting to be re elected as Member of Parliament for the Chaguanas West seat, vacated by him not very long ago after  a fallout with his former colleagues in the UNC. The UNC had rejected Mr Warner as their candidate to contest the bye election and had instead chosen a neophyte as their preferred choice. Faced with that rejection, Mr Warner then formed this new political vehicle in order to contest the election and  so regain his rightful place as the representative for the Constituency. The result is now history and the ILP…

LAST BID TO GRAB FIRST PLACE.

LAST BID is my nap to land the spoils in the  16.35 race at York on Sunday 9th September. This is a Class 2 Handicap over 6furs. and the going is expected to be on the firm side.LAST BID is trained by T.D Easterby who is the top trainer at York among those trainers that are represented in this contest. His jockey on the other hand ,has not tasted much ,if any success, at the venue but is quite a capable rider. It is a 20 runner handicap and so there are four places on offer and the selection ,at the time of writing has been quoted at a lovely price of 16/1, a price that I expect him to return at when flashing past the winning post in first place. This horse is a real course regular who has raced here no fewer than seven times in his career with two of those runs being over today’s course and distance. His record at York reads 11226 18  and 6.His course wins have come over 5 furs   and his three career victories  were  all  gained over the minimum trip. That is not to suggest he does not stay 6furs,it is just that he has been largely campaigned over that sort of trip.My study of this race has convinced me that LAST BID is indeed, the horse to beat and those of you willing to back this horse are advised to place each way bets in what will be a very open betting market.

MY CHELTENHAM SELECTIONS,DAY 1.

Well I was unable to post any selections for a while because of illness and other negative situations affecting my well being . However,I have been doing some serious research into the form of  all the horses entered for the Festival  over the last few days and so I wish to share with you all, the horses that I will be backing on this the  first day of the meeting. My money will be on COLOUR SQUADRON in the opener as I am convinced he would have beaten Montbazon had he not fallen in that race.I will be backing  the  same combination of Jockey and  Trainer in the second race   as I expect MENORAH to land the spoils this time around.RUNSHAN is my choice in the third race and this one will make them all go .He is a sound jumper with course experience who has never been a faller  in his career. In the fourth race I’ll be on BINOCULAR  to beat the “Fly” and in the fifth , I’m staying with the Hobbs /Johnson combination  to land this prize with BALTHAZAR KING.Call me a mad man if you wish but my money will be on IXORA in the sixth while in the last I”m going all out on MIC”S  DELIGHT.I’ m going to play a treble with COLOUR SQUADRON, MENORAH and BALTHAZAR KING and a double with RUNSHAN and IXORA.   RUNSHAN is actually my best bet of the day.So, there we have it , those are the horses that I will be backing, and I suggest that  you readers should also follow my picks.

Down ,but not out.

English: Mahendra Singh Dhoni of India in acti...

Not a good day at all for this blog and we are  still licking our wounds from the hiding dished out to us. The  day started in a positive manner with Jackie Solitaire going down by a nose at 10/1.After that it was all downhill.Royales Charter was going well when, for the second Saturday in a row, he found himself on the floor.Diamond Harry failed to sparkle and finished out of the money behind the impressive Midnight Chase.Pret A Thou tried to make the running but was soon swallowed up and finished unplaced.Corkage held on for third  thus saving a bit of our stake in that race. Finally Knight Pass was unable  to save our hides and  his defeat  compounded a miserable day for us .We  are down but certainly ,not out.We shall rebound and will give ,in equal measure, that which has been given to us .We are not  alone in our misery. We are not the only one’s to take a hammering  over the course of this weekend. The English Cricket Team , the Indian Cricket Team, even Manchester United ,they all suffered shattering defeats at the hands of their opponents.I’m sure they will all rebound at some  stage or another. So we accept our losses on the day and move on.Anyway, there will be no selections today as nothing  on the cards appeals to us.We’ll be back {God willing] tomorrow  with selections for Monday’s card.

13/2 WINNER saves the day.

English: Before the Race Cheltenham Racecourse

Image via Wikipedia

A mixed bag of results today with only one winner out of our four selections.Spirit D’Armour put some early cash into our betting bank winning at 13/2.We had picked Quousko de l’Isop  earlier in the  day at Fontwell  but held our betting hand  in that race when it turned out to be a seven horse field.Had we been aware of that before publishing,we would not have made a selection in that race This blog does not, or will not ,knowingly select horses in fields of 7 horses or less neither would we be tipping horses at very short odds.Nevertheless, at the end of the day we did tip Quousko whats his name and he faded into the unplaced 3rd spot after showing up well for 2mls 1fur  of the 2ms/2fur trip. He’ll win over shorter  on better ground. We did have a bet on our third selection ,Spanish Cruise ,and this one was cruising along nicely for the majority of the  race until he did an Italian Cruise  and floundered on the rocks, ending up in 4th spot.He will also soon make amends. Finally we had  a  pretty hefty bet on Benny Be Good who was held up in last place for most of the race   only to finish in 4th spot.We could have done with the place but we’ll be depending on Benny to be good  in his next start when hopefully, losses could be recouped. All in all the 13/2 winner saved the day for us so we are not disheartened in any way.Turning our attention to today’ s card  ,it is a day of really top class racing action and we are hoping that our selections all  hit the board.Going straight into  the action, our first selection runs in the 1.30 at Cheltenham and he is one  that was tipped by us to win his race last Saturday only to come to grief when still in with a chance .ROYALE’S CHARTER was heavily backed  at Ascot  ending up as the 3/1 fav and was in 9th position when his rider parted company with him after a bad blunder. He is been turned back out very quickly so it seems that connections are confident in his chances  in what promises to be a very hot race. This horse is trained by Nick Williams and readers would recall that last Saturday in my post ,I tipped Royale’s Charter and three other Horses trained by Mr Williams.[I  also in that post tipped  Seek the Fair Land ,winner at16/1]The four Nick Williams horses tipped all failed to hit the board last Saturday but it’s going to be a different story today.DIAMOND HARRY is another runner from this yard  and this high class chaser 4th to Kauto Star and Long Run in the Betfair Chase at Haydock after an absence of 357 days will take all the beating in the Argento Chase [2.35 Cheltenham].He is a proven winner on this course and has won over the distance. He is a nap selection. In the following race ,the 3.10  also at Cheltenham look no further than the No 3 horse ,KNIGHT PASS.This one was a recent impressive winner  at Kempton Park over today’s trip.Oppose this one at your peril.Over in the 1.15 at Doncaster we fancy  No 8, JACKIE SOLITAIRE.This one finished behind  Baby Mix at Cheltenham and prefers this race rather than to reoppose Baby Mix at Cheltenham. It will not be a walkover but we expect Jackie Solitaire to come out on top.CORKAGE [tipped by us when scoring the first of his two victories] is a horse we like and  we expect him to score the treble. HE runs in the 2.20 at Doncaster .We tipped PRET A THOU together with Hey big Spender a couple weeks ago .Hey Big Spender won at 14/1 while Pret A Thou was scratched. He runs in the 2.40 at Uttoxeter  and must be in with a big chance. He has got conditions in his favor on his return over Hurdles.BET: 1.15 DONCASTER ,No8 :JACKIE SOLITAIRE …BET:1.30 CHELTENHAM,..No12, ROYALES CHARTER …BET 2.35 CHELTENHAM,No1:DIAMOND HARRY…..BET 2.40UTTOXETER ,No1 :PRET A THOU…BET 3.10 CHELTENHAM,No3 KNIGHT PASS…BET 2.20 DONCASTER,No 3 :CORKAGE.

9/2 WINNER,4/1 THIRD YESTERDAY.

English: Wait for me ! A hurdle race at Huntin...

Image via Wikipedia

We enjoyed a  pretty successful day yesterday with both of our selections hitting the board.Bell Flower Boy, the first of the duo ran away from his rivals for an emphatic victory at odds of 9/2.Lovely odds indeed.Suitably fortified with our takings from that race ,we thought it prudent to reach for the handbrakes and so we went each way on selection no 2 Ocky De Neulliac who finished a very fortunate third ,  just managing to save our investment in him.We lost the win leg of our double but the place portion brought in a tidy profit. So all in all, from our point  of view,it was a good day at the office. We do not however, for one minute, intend to rest on our laurels. No ,not at all.We are going to continue to fight the battle day in day out and it’s no different today .Certainly we are in no hurry to board a luxury Cruise liner for an Italian cruise, though I dare say the bookies might ‘harbor’ such wishes on our behalf. Our desire is to have them on bended knees ,much as Australia is  presently doing to the Indian Cricket Team.Well so much for the long winded speech[we’re not in the Commons are we?].Let’s  therefore ,turn our attention to the serious stuff and today’s selections. The first of these runs in the 1.30 at Fontwell and he is the No8 horse ,the difficult to pronounce  QUOUSKO DE L”ISOP.The first thing that strikes me about this one is his ability to handle  the  expected Heavy ground conditions. He was impressive in landing a bumper in similar conditions so ,no problem in that department. He has had two outings over hurdles the first of which saw him virtually tailed off after a couple of bad mistakes. He improved in his  last start to finish third  and seems to be understanding  what is required of him. This is not a tough field to over come and with normal improvement this horse is taken to land the prize. No1,.SPIRIT D”ARMOUR in the 1.40 at Huntingdon is our next selection and, in his last start, he finished 3rd to the more than useful Chesil Beach Boy after making much of the running  over  a 2fur shorter trip.We expect this one to show further improvement and if he does ,that should see him winning this race. The 2.10 at Huntingdon is where we go next and our selection here is No3, Charlie Longsdon’s SPANISH CRUISE [not to be confused with ‘Italian Cruise’  ha ha].This one is due for a win after two very good efforts and we are confident of him going one better today. The Master of Seven Barrows , the great Nicky Henderson has one entered here  and who is the likely race  favorite. However, we feel that while that one does have an obvious chance of  following up ,[won on Sunday],our selection will prevail over him and gain a much deserved victory. Our final selection runs in the 3.10 at Huntingdon and in this race we are looking no further than the No1 Horse,BENNY BE GOOD.This is a competitive race with a couple of  useful animals among the entrants. However Benny Be Good is a very very confident selection to land the spoils in this race  and so ,while we respect those in opposition to him today our money will most definitely be riding on him.Best of luck and please share/retweet.
